An International Conference
on Behavioral Safety &
Performance Management

Our aim is to promote the understanding and application of Behavioral Safety. Since 1996, Behavioral Safety Now has provided a forum for discussing issues in behavior-based safety (BBS) relevant to the diverse stakeholders involved in behavioral safety. It's a meeting where BBS experts can illustrate and extend 'best practices' in behavioral safety, where vendors and consultants can promote BBS products and services, where practitioners can share success stories and questions, and where novices can learn the fundamentals of the behavioral approach to safety. The conference now includes other applications of behavioral techniques, including areas of performance such as quality, customer service and productivity.

Attendees have the opportunity to participate in educational workshops and informative presentations (both practice and theory). They also have an invaluable opportunity to network and participate in discussion sessions with others who are applying behavioral processes at the workplace.

The main sponsor of the conference is The Cambridge Center for Behavioral Studies, a non-profit organization whose mission is to advance the study of behavior and its humane application to practical problems, and the prevention and relief of human suffering. The Cambridge Center provides accreditation of behavior-based safety programs in the workplace, enforcing standards of evidence-based practice. As a non-profit event, Behavioral Safety Now donates proceeds from the annual conference to help support the Cambridge Center, including support of student research in Behavioral Safety. Several other sponsors, such as Quality Safety Edge, Industrial Safety & Hygiene News, Liberty Mutual Safety Solutions, Marsh, ProcessMAP Corporation, and Safety Performance Solutions, join forces to ensure that Behavioral Safety Now remains the premiere forum for reporting on workplace applications and experiences, basic and applied research, and state-of-the-art technology for applying a behavioral analysis to workplace safety and performance management.

Roughly half of the presentations are by individuals and teams from industry who are actually using behavioral methods in the workplace on a day-to-day basis. The remaining presentations are from consultants and researchers who advance the field by relating best practices to current behavioral theory.
